That won't damage the fins of large wild discus?
What size holes should I get?
Several years ago, I damaged the fins of a wild using a regular net.
Thanks

My favorites are the large fine mesh nets from Jehmco, but they've been out of stock for a while.

I keep waiting for Jehmoc to get them back in. My good net is at the end of it's life. My other net isn't bad but it's not as fine a mesh.

If you really want to know, you might try contacting one of the more popular sponsors here and ask where they get their nets. Hmmm...That's such a good idea I may contact one of my importer friends and ask.

The best net I use is a plastic colander I stole from the kitchen. I use it to move discus when going to shows. The discus never fights and never gets damaged in any way.

I am so envious of you. You actually have fish shows in Minnesota? You lucky dog.
I saw your home bred winner at NADA. It was the best home bred fish I have seen since the category was added.

Hey Liz, Wiilie,
I thought Rick won last year. Was that a previous NADA?

+1 on the fish show envy.

My entry came in 3rd in the thick line striped section, which exceeded my expectations. :o

sorry for my mistake, willie. The thick lines were a very strong class.

I use to use a pillow case to snatch up my oscars

i also try to use containers if the water is low, sometimes guiding the fish into a bucket with a net. I have used nets but i almost always cause at least some damage doing it :/

ive always wanted to try a rubber net wth small holes, ive seen pics of them online and it seems the spikes cant get caught up in them as easily.

Here's the way to NEVER cause damage to your discus.
