Do you have a PIA discus?

My top dog won't let me do WC's. It knows when I do WC's I stir stuff up and he doesn't allow the others to pick at it. So he follows my vacuum hose around and pecks at it and gets in the way! He is a real PIA!

I'm constantly shoving him out of the way so I can see what I'm doing!

All in one tank lol. They simply will not get out of the way when doing water changes. The fish in my avatar is a wild Cuipeua which is a red based discus from the Alenquer region.

I always have to push mine out of the way with my python when doing water changes. Or they all happen to line up where I can't see where I have to vac. Depending on wc schedule compared to feeding they often nibble my hands as well

Ya the feeding attack is another thing! They maul your hand when sticking FDBW to the glass!

I think most discus will do this when they are use to your present, esp hand feed them :D, they always bite my hand when I do vacuum

We have a group of pita red whites in our mixed domestic tank. They are actually royal pitas! They perpetually tail nip and fin nip each other and some smaller guys. These pitas arent the big boys in the tank...they are middle bracket. Its not a minor issue either.. they are down right nasty the way they beat each up.. If I had an analogy...they are like wild scalare if anyone has ever kept a bunch gearing up for breeding. Only these pitas are always like this. Im guessing they are not long for the tank!

when i put FDBW cubes in the tank my PITA discus will rush me so quick they sometimes cut me with their spines!!

i adopted a male parrot cichlid that would bite me whenever i put my hands in the tank to clean. he couldnt even close his mouth properly, yet somehow he drew blood!
