Hi all,
Been awhile since I posted fish pics... Thought I'd post some pics of Blue Snakeskin Juvies I picked up a few months ago (Dec) from Steve...Aka Roque Discus.

This was the sales thread...
http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?126042-Blue-Snakeskin-Fry-Southern-Oregon-P-U-or-shipping-available/page2

and in it I posted a short Video.

Heres some updates... Fish are doing great, excellent health and excellent shape so far, They will make a great addition to my breeding program. Steve gave them a good head start with his excellent husbandry and care.

Stunning fish! If I ever hobby-breed, it will be blue snakeskins... I love the variety of the offspring, all such beautiful fish.

These are some lucky fish to be cared for by two of the best!!

They have a very nice unique look to them! I would also like to hear the care. How big when you got them until now?

I think they were 2+" when I shipped them. The spawn was in September if I recall correctly. I think Al's great photo skills might make them look bigger than they are, he can tell us, but mine are about 4-4.5" now. I wouldn't be surprised if his are bigger though. I've had 12 in a 75 gallon, maybe a bit crowded, and he did get the best of the batch. I'm working with a different pair at the moment and giving the parents of these a break, but plan to let them try again in about a month.

Steve, mine are about the same as yours... and ironically same number per tank size! great minds think alike.

I got these around DEC 12... so have had them about 5 months. They were maybe 2" total length...

There are 12 of them in a 75 gal tank. The tank has 2 aquaclear 110 filters...with sponges inside . ,1 - 300 watt heater. Raised in my well water. 400 ppm TDS/pH 7.6.. I will be splitting out 4 to a new tankat this point as I like to have about 7-8 adults in a 75 gal.

Thanks for comments everyone! I'll post more updates soon.

I just saw this thread Al and I can agree with others that they look very well shaped and grown . Those darkened and dramatic photos are excellent too .They make the atmosphere looks yellowish , just like in a tannine biotope tanks.

I would like to see Steves Breeding pair too, just to know how should they end up looking.

I raise a few stendker SS on my own right now and I am curious as when should we expect their full colouration Al ?
I was under the impression that they should colour up much younger and got a bit dissapointed ,but now I see thats not the case with this strain.
And Pat , was your joke intended in this direction too ? That it will take a long time until we see their true beauty ?
