Anyone know anything about Discusfish.com? I know he is not a sponsor here, but he looks to have nice discus. Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them or have heard anything about them. Thanks.

Just posted my review on them on this thread.

http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?128261-discusfish-com&highlight=discusfish.com

Looks like to me they are using Kenny's photos and when you do a google search on the photos it lead back to Kenny's preview pics on his posts.

I would proceed with extreme caution. I was working with Michael for months, seemed very nice and knowledgeable. When I was ready to buy my fish, I saw articles about him using pictures from Kennys discus. I mentioned it to him and and asked him to send me current pics as he has had those same fish for five months. he promptly told me his fish weren't for me to shop elsewhere. I did no problem, but was just reading fishlore article and saw a picture of a xxl white butterfly that discusfish.com have on their site for $368, I was actually going to buy it. That article gave credit to Kennysdiscus for the fish photo. He also does not allow you to come to their farm. I don't know anyone else who is selling $200 - $400 fish by only a picture. Even Hans let you come by appointment. He may have some fish, but no way he has everything he's advertising. Be cautious!

There are a ton of negative reviews on the guy. He's a known thief and tries to ride the coat tails of Kenny's reputation. If you want fish that he's advertising photos of then you need to deal with the actual owner of those fish, Kenny.

Hi, from my understanding discusfish.com is a distributor of other people's discus fish. He gets the majority of his fish from Myrtle Beach Discus. He does not breed or sell any fish of his own. However the quality of the fish he sells from other sources is fairly good. His website seems to be a bit misleading to make you think the fish come from him.

Here's a good read from Kenny http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?129385-BEWARE-of-discus-com-using-our-shipment-photos-to-sell-discus-it-doesn-t-have.

According to Kenny on FB this person is removing Kenny's watermark from images in Kenny's September shipment pictures and using them on his website.

Michael Li (owner of discus.com) is deplorable person. He is stealing pictures from Kenny's Discus and Uncle Sam Discus then even try to remove all the watermarks. So if you buy from him chances are, you'll getting fish from Gabe (Jack Wattley Discus).

Apparently another flim flam artist similar to, but can't be as bad as somethinsgphishy, if he's using Gabe's fish, which I know and have purchased. Somethingsphishy sells the worst imaginable fish and uses phony pictures also. I fell for it and got the worst imaginable.

Not wise to purchase from someone who can't or won't send you pics of the actual fish.

That was definitely a smart move and the right thing to do imho.

Miranda here. I have made it a policy not to comment on other discus sellers, but having read Kenny's postings I have to chime in. Michael Li, owner of Discusfish.com, is a website owner, that's all. None of the discus on his site are his fish. None of them. He scams other discus dealers into contracting with him to sell their fish. He keeps a percentage of every sale. The other dealers do all the work, including shipping. When Li set up the website at first, he listed the names of the dealers whom he contracted with. They are no longer listed on his site, probably because his "dealers" figured out that they were had. At the time that he contacted me, the percentage was 10% right off the top for every sale. For those of us who import, breed, feed, care for, and love our discus, 10% off the top is a huge amount for a website guy who does absolutely nothing for his business except sit in front of a computer and collect fees. When he first contacted us, not only did he steal pictures, he actually tried to steal our whole website until we threatened him with legal action. He actually had the nerve to try to sign us up again at NADA 2016 in Chicago. I feel sorry for those others who fell for his line of ********.

I too was scammed by :flame:. What a horrible racket! He continually sends dead fish and expects you to keep paying shipping for the replacement fish. The fish never match the pictures. After reading the above I now know he was lying to me at every turn. The fish that did survive all have issues. The only three fish I have in my tank that aren't screwed up I got elsewhere.

Do not buy.
Buyer beware.

Im aware of it Skip and my supplier is not happy at all. Discus.com is not an authorized seller of Australian Blackworms. Mal has informed me the issue is being dealt with regards to the Australian Blackworms.

Thanks though!

I agree with the sentiment here.

Discus, like all other aquarium, you get what you pay for. Don't skimp out.

Well, the concept of selling others' product by making a website is not the point to bash imo.
That's how Amazon, Alibaba, Agoda and other millions of websites are making money.

But the ethics (or lack off in this case, actually), stealing photos, lies etc., are not OK.
