Looking for a sand for my tank and no one in my area sells white sand #20 silica , has anyone used National Geographic sand from Petsmart? Or any other suggestions.

If you have an ace hardware buy you, you can pick up a 50lb bag for $13.

I got my father some NG black sand from Petsmart around Xmas. It looks good and was easy to clean, but it is fine grit. It easily gets sucked up when he vacuums his tank. I'd go with pool filter sand from home depot or a pool store.

The ace hardware stuff is more white than tan. That's where I got mine. Comes in a clear bag so that you can see it

Buy the sand from that link (aquaquartz), it will payoff in the long run. Anything with less mass will siphon up along with heavy discus poop. Some things are worth cutting corners, substrate is not one of them.
