I bought the cheap controllers off ebay, but by the time I bought wire etc. I had as much into them as these.

One thing I did not like was how short the sensor wire was so I bought these

Cracked the case open and wired them in. Very simple, just match gray to gray and white to white and you are in business.

Pictures are in reverse order for how you do it!

At this rate why not an inkbird or something similar ?

Basically the same thing, is it not? I don't know much about the InkBird.

But, I need a really long temp sensor wire, so I knew I could get into the Petzilla ones.

Yea I guess that is my point. When doing the math the price is the same but the ink bird is plug and play.

I'm not saying yours isn't good
Or won't work don't get me wrong.

But for someone like me who sees wires and has to change undies. I'm all for plug and play
Plug and

The whole reason I did not go with InkBird is because I knew I needed a really long temp sensor. My whole goal all along was to get into it so I could "customize" it. Looking at the case on the Petzilla one, I knew there was a much better chance of getting in there and swapping out the sensor.
That's all...
