Was thinking of moving 10 juveniles from their current 50 gallon 3 ft tank and putting them in a 90 gallon. I first have to remove all plants and fish from the 90. Should there be any concerns doing this? Thanks

If you have any substrate in the tank it's critical that you don't remove or disturb it in any major way while your fish are still in the tank. I've heard horror stories from people who tried to remove their substrate without removing their fish and then losing all of their fish as a result.

Will you move your filtration from the 50 to the 90? Do you plan to sanitize the 90? My main concern would be cross contamination. I would bleach the 90 first and move over the filtration from the 50 gallon.

The fish will be fine with the move (they will love the extra space) if they are not exposed to new harmful pathogens.

Yes was wondering if cross contamination would be an issue. I really would not want that for sure. So I guess it would be a gamble. I will have to decide what to do.

I just sucked out like 90% of my sand with my fish in and no issue

Just put your fish in a separate bucket before doing anything to the tank.
