safe tiles for DIY sponge filter

I hope this is the right place to post this question.......I am setting up more tanks. I have bought the poret cube filter foam from Swiss tropicals and using some jet lifters from previous purchases. So, I need to buy a weight for them. I have read so much conflicting info regarding what is safe and not safe regarding the ceramic tiles from Lower or Home Depot. Any advice or experience via replies would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ya this would be better posted in the hardware and DIY section, not the tank journals section. But as far as the tile goes I have used the cheapest most basic ceramic tile from HD and not had issues. Joey king DIY did a video about this also.
