I have few nice pcs and wonder before I start new setup this weekend:
Do they sink without an issue on their own
What do you use to keep them in place as they are thin at times/unsteady (weights of any sort?)
This will be all on AquaQuarts sand by the way.

They definitely will want to float. Soak them in a trash can or tub to water log them and also release the tannins.

Soak them in water for couple of day. Boil them if possible. Refer to link below

They are lovely pieces and agree with what others have said on here about soaking them for awhile, at least until they become waterlogged and sink. You may want to attach them together to add to the stability and weight, using either fishing line or small plastic zip ties.
Another thing you should seriously consider is removing all the pointy parts as these will inflict damage to your discus when they spook.
I used a dremel to Round off all the pointy parts of my wood, think it helped with preventing injuries

They wanted to float, yup. I used mono line and fishing sinkers lol to tie them strategically and covered it with aqua quartz. Do I need tablets for lotus or liquid fertz?? I really hope the lotus makes it..

Hi,
Nice looking piece of wood. I'm not familiar with aqua quartz but be careful with lead fishing sinkers. With time they will contaminate the water.

Where did you get the wood?

Rather rounding off, I think you should cut off the smaller spikey, they do not look sharp but one day they will poke your fish eyes and scratch their body. No kidding, I had that before. best to keep these beautiful piece smooth

Soak them long enough and they will sink on there own. I took pruning sheers to all the small pieces sticking out and lopped them off.
