I’m planning on a 125 gallon Discus tank as a come back....5 adult Discus, tiny bit of pool filter sand with manzanita wood that has anubis and java moss growing on it.
I’m planning on having a quarantine tank or two....why two? Why not! I have been paying attention to the the benefits of having at least one as a quarantine going and in the past with keeping other fish besides Discus getting sick or introducing parasites into a main display tank. It’s just not right in dumping chemicals or wasting money on buying those chemicals in a big tank.
I’m also planning on adding big school of tetras and corys...
I’m at a point of just one school of tetra that schools very well...
I’m planning on a AquaDecor background for the tank as well... I really love the look of those.
As for filters I’m planning on two canisters with a added prefilter attached in front of them.. if anyone follows Pondguru on Utube you probably know what I’m talking about.
Anyway,those are my plans.

Having a quarantine tank is the hallmark of an experienced aquarist. The best ones have more than one.

Welcome back, Willie

Why only 5 on that size tank? Just curious on your vision for it

I guess it’ll be like Potato chips you can’t have just...lol
I do like odd numbers however.....with all the different colors available it’ll be a hard pick. I'm thinking solid blue and solid red and maybe add a striped pattern.

That definitely is the toughest part. I have a rainbow assortment myself however lately the vision of a single strain tank is very appealing.

Who are you considering as your source?

I’m highly leaning on Kenny as a source for my Discus...every one has a great experience with him and he has some fine looking fish.

Great decision. All mine are from him. I'm fortunate to only be an hour away from him. Not only are his fish amazing but Kenny is great resource and friend and not just your supplier.

Well, Christmas came early....found a 150 gallon aquarium with stand and canopy for $380.00 on a local Classifieds. The tank is a mess with hard water stains all over it. I had to throw out some of the filters for it a HOB and sponge filters. I kept the canister but it’s way to small for a 150. I’ll use it for a quarantine tank.
As soon as I can I’ll post a picture of the tank.
