Just wondering what nitrate level most people keep there tanks I just did a test and mine is between 10 and 20ppm what is the highest range you should keep it with discus all my other levels are perfect O nitrite O ammonia I'm going to start doing more water changes only have community fish as on now and have only been doing 40 perecent once a week when I get discus I plan on doing daily water changes. I just made a discus order will be here after Christmas anyway would appreciate any input thank you

According to DR Kevin Novak, less than 5ppm is ideal.

Hi Matt, most here consider 5 ppm or less best for discus.

I think if you have a truly cycled tank with good biofiltration
you should be reading 0 ammonia, o nitrites and less then 5 nitrates.
preferably as close to 0 as you can get. Answer-daily w/c's.
