Hi,

I have been in this doubt for long time. But i didnt get any clear idea in it.

Everybody says nutritional requirement of discus is 45-50 g / 100 g food.

Food analysis says beef heart has

protein 17g
fat 5g
water 77 g

So now may i consider protein value is 17/(100-77)=17/23=0.73 ie 73%

Is this right way to calculate.

Is der any nutritional value and vitamin loss ll be der while freezing?

Pl suggest me.

Regards,

Vasanth

I guessing you are talking about a commercial frozen food , do you have the brand name or better a picture of the package in question.
most people made their own mix of buy for people who take in consideration the protein % requirements.

Beef heart
Variety meats and by-products, cooked, simmered

This what I found myself , we have to considered now if is cooked, and content per serving size. In this case is about 20% for a cooked 3 OZ or 85g . Notice that water makes a 55.8 g of the 85g.

This is from the San Francisco Bay brand frozen package. notice it's protein content is low, because of the water content as well as it has brine shrimp and daphnia these has their own water content.
