Hi,

Im facing this problem in all the pairs.

Once baby hatches after 60 Hrs they starts falling to the floor.

The parents pricks and spit them in glass.

Again they falls.

By 5th day they all disappears.

I believe the fries dies becoz they are lying in the glass floor for more than 2 days from the time they hatched.

Im totally struck with this. If Somebody has idea to solve this pls share.

I initially thought insufficient nutrients. But im add 4 multivitamin and 4 B complex capsules to the BHM.

How much air do you have running in the tank, should be a gentle bubbling ... could that be the reason ? maybe too much current and the flow could be washing them down.

My guess is that your water a bit too hard. What are your water parameters? Please measure your kh.

Hi,

My total water hardness is 60 ppm.

IMO there wont be hatching if my water is hard.

Also i have recently read that there will be adhesive between egg and head of fry which holds it.

If hardness is the problem, how it may impact the gland inside the shell?

In my neighbourhood they says it may because of Quality of Eggs. But i doubt how come all the pairs ll have same issue.

I had this happen years ago when I was fairly new. I was told by Cary Strong that my water was too hard. Not hard enough to prevent hatching but hard enough to keep the heads from sticking well. I lowered the conductivity and the problem went away. Things like this don't always depend the concentration of minerals in the water but on the form the minerals are in. A high general hardness will often not be a problem while a moderately hard carbonate hardness can cause problems.

You might try adding robioos tea to your water for a few weeks and see if you don't have better luck. The tea is cheap way to find out if a high kH is causing the problem.

Liz,

Thanks for your advice. I will try next time with some more RO water added.

Thank You.

So, the eggs stick to the cone, or are they stuck to the glass of the tank? But once they hatch, they fall off the cone or glass? What are they stuck to before they hatch?
