I have a 150 gallon with plants on one side. In the area of the plants I get a build up of detritus. Everything else stays nice and clean with an fx6 I am looking for a small powerhead to blow the build up out of the plants where the fx6 will suck it up. Ultimately with a magnetic through the glass mount. Also something that’s not gonna anger my discus with unwanted current. Any suggestions? I should add that the 150 g is a tall shape so only 4ft long. I don’t need much just enough to blow the plant area clean.

I have a barebottom 110 gallon tank which is also 4' long. I use a Hydor Koralia pump positioned near the top which blows diagonally downward. It's an altum angelfish tank, but they have no problem with the current. I wouldn't expect any problems with discus either.

Thanks for the input...looks like there is different gallons per hour heads any idea what size you have? Does this mount through the glass vs running a wire down into the tank?

I have a Koralia in my water storage setup. Nice pump. Sunsun also makes a decent one.

The ones with external wire are very nice but exponentially more expensive than the all internal ones.

The Hydor Koralia Nano will likely be all you need.

An FX6 is too little for a 150 gal... for me a filter must move 10 times or more the volume of the aquarium! for the dead spot... use a pump or wavemaker... 200 gallos o more.
