A Forum Fact that may interest you.... or not at all.. but its an important one.
The forum continue to exists as you see it now by the funds generated from multiple sources....

Google Ads.. Members that are not Premium Membership holders see an advertisement. You click it, and it takes you to the ad site. The ads are chosen by Google, Not SimplyDiscus and targeted to you by your browsing history. Each click generates a very small amount of revenue but it can ad up and is important to the forum's future.
All of these methods contribute to bringing you SimplyDiscus. I think the first three in the list you all understand. but to recap.
The Premium Memberships are special benefits packages that members buy a year at time. The perks are all listed here http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?104050. You also get no in-thread ads with a premium membership
Sponsors Pay to be able to sell in this community in a commercial fashion. The forum does not allow any member to sell commercially here unless they a sponsor. Sponsors have agreed to act in a fair and ethical fashion and to keep good reputation. Your support of them is important to the forum and their treatment of you is as well.
Donations.. http://forum.simplydiscus.com/misc.php?do=donate SimplyDiscus is not a Non-Profit by law. I wish I had knew years ago when I set it up but I didn't. The forum is part of an LLC. You may donate as in make a VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION to the forum but its not tax deductible. I wish it were so we could do things like Raffles, but we can't.
