WE had a suggestion to high light all the great discussions on food recipes ( for People! not Fish) as it seems a good many members enjoy their cooking and eating greatly. Looking at this we also realized we have some really great banter on various aspects of cooking, eating, drinking and other home centric things. Why not break them out and give them a proper home..

So we did....

and a sub board just for Recipes.
http://forum.simplydiscus.com/forumdisplay.php?404-Recipes-Recipes-Recipes!

I believe we have some very very talented culinary wizards on Simply , maybe they can inspire you!

ps ...yes I know its not discus related, but this is community and really, few things build community better than food!:)

Many thanks for this suggestion, Jeep !

- Ricardo's thread: 'Recipes- I'm sooooo hungry' (or something like that) is the greatest - I just went through all 12 pages of it - made me soooo hungry again too!

I saw that as well but have not yet had time to read it all. But, I do have 2 freezers full of food that I may have to tap into after reading.

I would really like so see some of our Asian and Aussie friends post some recipes. Right now, we are hosting the American Royal World BBQ Championship here in KC. There are around 350 teams again this year and there was an Australian team on TV cooking up some really good looking rib eyes. Unfortunately, they would not give up their secret recipe!

Yes Jeep, I too would love to see some of our Asian & Aussie friends post some recipes.

And your mention of the BBQ championship in KC makes me drool - I've seen a few of these types of BBQ competitions in your state and in a couple of your neighbouring southern states, and the meat grilling, BBQing, and smoking results produced there have made me a believer that the tastes would be to die for.

And speaking of meat grilling, I've recently tried "reverse-searing" of both rib-eyes and strip-loins, and prime rib roast too, and while I didn't feel the results were spectacular, they certainly produced a better coloring and tenderness throughout the entire pieces of meat than the standard 'sear first' approach.

Do you or anyone else have a contribution on a manner or a recipe for doing reverse-searing that is considered real good ?
