Hello all, new member but being reading the content here for ages and its been a huge help in planning my set up.
Im new to Discus but not fish keeping. Im in the process of switching my aquarium to Discus and want to get the set up perfect before stocking.
Tank Specs
300ltr – Total size not actual water held
55cm Deep
110cm Wide
60cm Tall
Fluval FX6 filter
UV Steriliser
Non-planted
Sand with Rocks (Rocks are smooth, secured and sealed to stop debris hiding or Discus damaging themselves).
Currently I have Angels that are being re-homed. The plan is to keep a selection Stendker Discus that are between 6-8cm, circa 10 of.
I have purchased a Seneye SWS, I have always used an API test kit. The API kit range jumps from 0 - .25. Having installed my Seneye im reading zero Ammonia on the API kit but .010 on my Seneye jumping to .014 after a feeding. Is this a problem or acceptable? I have recently given the tank a deep clean and switched out sand and rocks so this could be the cause.
Any improvement you could see with my set up do let me know?
