Im Glad most of them are well Karen .
When did you got them ? How much have you lost so far and did you have any DOAs in the bag ?

Photo of the tank with a little info . introduction of water chemistry would be nice too .

Good luck and enjoy your new discus journey .

Finally pictures. Everyone doing good!! Not all the little guys are in the picture. Doing 50% water changes daily. For some unknown reason the three pictures I took of the water test will not download, so I guess you all have to take my word for it until I can figure this out. No nitrate, nitrite, hardness 0-25, alkalinity 120, ph level 7.4. Live in the cold rainy state of Wisconsin, mom of three kids, should say 4 kids, husband too!!LOL!!! PROUD Nana of 10 grandkids, 9 girls and 1 boy(who is a twin). Had discus 20yrs ago and then we downsized from the farm and moved to town. I have limited space now, but just had to get back into the discus!! They are so beautiful!!

Hi all
Have found a food that these guys LOVE. Our area fish shop makes their own flake combination, so I gave them all a taste this morning. WOW did they go nuts, loved it.

That's awesome. I found the best flakes years ago by Bill from IE. Not sure if he still sells them but they were really good.

Monday morning update. Doing fine. Growing a little more each week. Thanks to the couple of people that look at each post I put on. I'm not an expert and never will be, just hoping to learn some new tricks to help me along.

Did you run in some kind of trouble so far , or everything goes smooth so far ?

Hi Karen,
Your babies look great! They are a lively bunch and they are going to be so beautiful. Good luck, I’ll be following your thread to learn what I can. This isn’t an easy challenge, but you’re doing great so far.

Well, after heater malfunctions, little bodies that ventured into trouble by getting stuck, I am down to only two bodies left. So with sad regret I am bowing out of the challenge. I wish you all the best of luck with your little ones and will be keeping an eye on their progress. I plan to continue to push my two survivors to grow big and strong and will keep my discus tanks because they are such beautiful fish!! Thank you to the members that took the time to check out my progress, I had hoped there would have been more though, but its all ok. Good luck to all of you!!

So sorry to hear this Karen :( but if you are still planning on growing out the two you have left maybe consider staying in the contest...at least think about it :)

Aw, sorry to hear you had more troubles. :( No fun to lose them, that's for sure. I agree with Pat and hope you'll at least think about continuing to document how things go with the two you have left. I went down to four but since then they have actually been getting on well. Maybe you'll end up with a pair! :)

Karen, I know I have not been very vocal but to give up so early would be sad.
We all struggle with these guys but Nothing ventured nothing gained.
I will challenge you to stay in it even if you get to one fish, that is one sole more than nothing.
Throw out a challenge and i will match it, Hate to see anyone give up on anything.
Tom.

Thank you all, but I’m just going to move forward at this time and take the best care possible of the two little ones I have left. I will be watching and will post pictures of the babes off and on and other beautiful discus that I have. Love these fish!!

Karen,
Sorry to hear this, but I’m sure the twins will make you proud. You are better at raising babies than every single one of us who didn’t even have the guts to try. I’ll be waiting to see your pair and I know I’ll be kicking myself when I see them. Best of luck!
