Laying Eggs

Is it possible for an unmated female to lay eggs? I have a female that has layed eggs but I don't think she is mated with any of the others. None of the other discus in the tank go near the eggs. I have a mated pair in another tank and when eggs are laid there is always one of the two with the eggs. What do you think?
