Afternoon everyone,
Been battling gill flukes for a while now, tried fluke solve but fish start to flick again after a few weeks. So tried potassium permangonate for the first time.

So made a stock solution using 20g of pp crystals for 1litre of water. Then used 180ml of the stock solution to treat 720litre tank which should be 5ppm. Was told to leave it in the tabk for 30minutes and treat every week for 4 weeks.
After the 30mins when i was due to neutralize the pp one smaller discus nearly was unconcussions. I quickly neutralized with hydroproxide and after a few minutes he was fine. Then performed a 90% wc.

They are all noticeably happier now but i have a few questions.
1. Do you think i should reduce the dose off pp, ive attched a a pic of the coluar in my tank.

2. Alot of other sources suggest 4hr pp treatment, is that better at lower dosage than 30mins?

3. Also to break the cycle of gill flukes should i not treat tank every 4 days instead of every 7days?

At 80F or more the life cycle of flukes can be even a little less than 4 days, so repeated treatment every 3 days
Normally I would use less than 1/2 the dose. 22g of crystals in 1 liter, then 1 ml of solution every 10 liters of tankwater so 72ml in your case

My tanks kept at 32c so would you suggest treating every 2days as their cycle should be faster? I used 180ml so half that would be 90ml no? What do you think about the coular of the tank, is it to strong?

I would treat every 3rd day with 90ml for at least 4 times

Day1 At least 4 hours, if no sign of distress even up to 12 hours then big water change.
The 2 following days do at least 50% wc
Repeat at least 4 times, 6 or more even better
