I hope you guys have generators . Losing power in that type of cold could be really bad, life threatening.

We're having a decent winter so far along the coast of Nova Scotia. Some snow but mostly heavy rain and I'm happy to have it come down liquid. No snow on the ground here in Halifax, but more snow followed by rain again tomorrow. The weather is odd tho;one day it's frigid and the next warm and record breaking.Seems to be heavier rain and stronger wind in present day weather.I guess we are making more water evaporate these days and needs to come down somewhere.Spring is on it's way;cherry blossoms are coming out in Victoria.BTW,hot weather kills more Canadians than cold weather.

Hope you manage to cope, this winter here so far has not been too bad, 2 years ago it was much worse...

I get homesick often, I've even planted the seed with my boss to eventually return back to our Chicago location in the near future........after seeing all of this go on, I think I'll stay in Texas :p

Once more into the breach! (Actually, it's hard to believe that last week was 15 - 20 degrees colder than this.)

Looks like my place as the snow has been blown into drifts.

I hope everyone is OK, but I'm excited about reports of heavy snowfall in the Sierra Navada, and up here in the southern Oregon Cascades. We need to refill out lakes, and have a decent snowpack to feed water needs for the year.

We need snow in the Blue Mountains as well as our snow pack has been low the last few years putting us officially in a drought status.

Freeway into Washington is closed today due to white out conditions.

I wonder why 9:15 am rush hour traffic seems light today

The Puget Sound region people are not used to this weeks snow conditions. Lots of business shut down. University of Washington and surrounding schools from grade one to college closed for almost a week. Banks open for shortened hours each day if not completely closed for the entire day.
