I do hope you are all warm and safe during this polar vortex event! Its incredible how cold it is there!

I know you are probably dreaming of warmer weather and Sunny shores like Florida right now. You probably also know that prices in Florida are extremely high normally in the winter and I wouldn't be surprised if there was price gouging going on as well.

I have a suggestion though. Theres another location to visit thats vastly overlooked as a winter destination and vacations are a bargain.. The New England shoreline! Though certainly not as warm as Florida, going from double digit below zero weather to where the Northeast.shoreline is hitting a balmy low teens must surely seem tropical and at a fraction of the cost.

I can tell you if you come CT right now for instance you would have the beaches to yourselves, theres plenty of picnic areas and zero bugs and mosquitoes right now.

Just thought I'd mention it.

In Minneapolis, we embrace the cold. Two funny incidents from this week.

1. On Wednesday, when the high was -20F and blowing, my wife decided to drop off some stuff at the mail box two blocks away. When I pointed out that the Post Office had cancelled service, her comment was that she wanted to know how far she could get! Fortunately, she returned.
2. Yesterday evening, we were all packing off to go home when someone mentioned it was up to -5F. A cheer erupted through the office.
