I HAVE A 40 GAL TANK HAD TREE DISCUS AND A REDHOOK AND SOME SMALLER FISH TWO SMALLER AND A MED DISCUS SOME HOW MY MED DISCUS HAD LIKE A BURN MARK ON THE L SIDE I THOUGH IT HURT IT SELF WITH THE WOOD I HAD IN THE TANK , TOOK IT OUT MARK GOT REALLY BAD , SO I DID A 25% CHANGE OF WATER AND PUT IN SOME MELAFIX TWO DAY LATER MED DISCUS PASS AWAY :embarassed: SO I DID A WATER CHANGE 75% BTY MY WATER IS A 80 + DEGRE... NOW MY SMALL BLUE DISCUS HAS THE SAME MARK ON THE SAME SIDE THAT MY MED DISCUS HAD NEED HELP PLEASE ,,, CAN MY REDHOOK BE HURTING MY DISCUS

How log have you had these fish together? Did you QT them?

I'm not familiar with a Redhook, but this sounds more like a disease issue...

The redhook myleus, found in the Amazon . They are also called "silver dollars". These fish are capable of delivering serious bites to humans. Stands to reason that if the fish bites humans why would they not bite other fish, or anything else for that matter?

OK, I know the Silver Dollar. Definitely not compatible with discus!!

These silver dollars are related to the Piranha meat
eating but they are more vegetarian. They can be fast swimmers not a good fish around Discus.
