DISEASE QUESTIONNAIRE
Problem
1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
So I've had these fry for about two weeks. It seemed like it was too easy the first week. After that its been a struggle. They are about 2 inches long currently. Some of them have grown noticeably, some not so much. About a week ago one of them would turn dark for awhile and then a few hours later seem fine. Then the next day another one would turn dark, then seem fine. It seem the severity of these episodes was increasing slowly. Then yesterday one started to swim with his nose on the bottom in a tight circle. This morning he was real bad, real dark and swimming erratically and trying to jump out of the water. I did a 95% water change but he didnt get better he died this after noon. The tank was slightly dirtier than usual this morning, I had fed some finely chopped fdbw last night and the water was a little cloudy from that this morning. I was due for a waterchange, but I've been doing 2 water changes per day and my last was only about 14 hours before he was trying to jump out of the tank.
One of the other fry that has been having some issues turning dark and clamping also has had some of his tail fin tip turn white, the next day the white part had been nipped off. All of the other fishes fins seem fine.
2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
turning dark, clamped fins, erratic swimming, rapid breathing, head standing, white tip on 1 tailfin which was possibly rotted away or nipped off the next day.
3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
have reduced feeding somewhat in hopes it will increase water quality
Tank/Water
4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
10-1= 9 fry left. 2 inches long
5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).

6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?

7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
Age for 12-24 hours with airstone, PH swing is 0 - 0.2
8. Parameters and water source;
Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.
- temp __84.4F___
- ph ___8.0__
- ammonia reading _0.0_
- nitrite reading __0.0__
- nitrate reading _0___
What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.

- municipal water __100%__
- RO water ____
