They have failed more than 20 times over the course of 12 months (with many rest intervals in between) So today decided to take a close up video of them spawning...
Thank you.

It's hard to tell with that video, but by the size of the breeding tube on both fish it's certainly a possibility. Can you guess at how many eggs are being laid?

It's now 8.40pm here. I'll take a picture tomorrow when it's brighter.
Don't want to startled them.
Meantime here's some of their previous unsuccessful spawns...
Thank you.

Hi Teo, do the breeding tubes look identical on both fish? The female tube is larger then the males with a squared off end and the males tube has a pointy end.

Hello Pat.
They appear very similar to me.
At around 50sec of this video, while the male fish was fertilizing the eggs, an egg actually fell off near his tube, I'm not exactly sure whether did it came out from "him" or the eggs got stucked onto him while he was doing his job and fell off subsequently...
Sorry for the video orientation.
Thank you.

I can't see the video but from the pictures the eggs should be translucent turning into black color in 2 to
3 days for the fertile eggs. I usually pull out the eggs
after laying. Look for overlapping eggs sometimes it's an indication of 2 females.

My rough estimate would be around 150?
Just took a picture, have problem uploading... will update again.
Thank you.

Hello Cliff.
I'm located central East, near the old airport.

The pair just spawned yesterday evening but most likely it'll be unsuccessful again.
I just took this pix two minutes ago...

I'll most likely pair with another male (but 4 years old).
Meantime I will overhaul their nutrition.

Pairing up with another Male shouldn't be a problem
because of its age, I had a fertile Male Eruption at age 8.

IMO, it looks like an awful lot of eggs for one female on post No. 3 picture number 3, I think you have 2 females...…………Easy to find out place a proven male with one, they will either fight each other or pair up try that arrangement back and forth. That's only my opinion I could be wrong...………………..Jim in Ohio

HI Jim.
Thanks for your opinion.
Hmmm...
Did occurred to me (initially) both are females but thinking back... they have spawn 20+ times and both females laid eggs exactly the same period seems so coincidence
Anyway, I net both fish back into the community tank.
Thank you.

Those are without a doubt two females.
