Are the Mercury and the Dark Angel derived from the same linage?

I think that they are both PB based. Show me a pic of the Mercury and I will confirm.

I personally think they're the same type. Dark Angel is the German Stendker version of what came out of Asia as the Mercury. There is varying degrees of the dark peppering present in both of those name strains

Thanks, Dano. I found this from a 04-26-2010 thread "Blue Mercury" Rod said, "Ed is right, Mercury is pigeon based. Essentially, they are pigeon blue diamonds."

Now look at the white butterfly.
Some of the same genetic but
different name.

Originally the blue diamonds were cross with the Pigeonblood back in the early 90s they were called
Black Diamond sold by a well known fish dealer.
Then remember Cary Strong started to sell the
same fish called white butterfly. In the last 12 years
these fish has been cross with the albino
giving them a more clean look.

Thanks, all. I plan to include a Mercury in my next discus order. I hope to grow it up. When it matures I think it will look pretty good.
