Hello all I just joined. Been keeping my new discus for about a year now. Was allways keeping fish but stopped with discus in 04. Tank broke:cry:. More time now and another site sparked my interest again. This time around things seem easier. Maybe I’ve been lucky. Im just a keeper with no interest in breeding. I got 13 in a 125. 6 came from Hans 5 from local stores and 2 from Uncle Sams. Since I started I’ve lost 1 discus a local bought turq. It was 2” and grew to almost 5 than stopped eating hid a bit and was dead. Took about 4-5 day from start to finish. That’s was about 6 months ago and all has been fine since.
Still just figuring out the layout of the site. I hope to contribute and learn more about our discus here. Thanks for having me and I will put up some pics :).127202

Nice Tom. Your dirty locals are a great example of what you get when crossing a non-PB to a PB. A lot of folks ask what will I get if I cross my blah blah Turk with a blah blah pigeon...tah dah, there you have it folks!

Yes Tom (coral bandit), heavy peppering is result of a PB crossed to a non PB, if it a dirty PB the peppering is off the charts. Dark angel/ Mercury is an engineered fish with peppering, but the usual result is like what Tom pictured. I actually don't mind them, just not for breeding purposes...I wasn't trying to be mean to him at all :)

No offense taken :). I like my dirty discus (named by Tom on another forum). Funny I have a Dark Angel127249. He was bought from Hans as a silver pb::roll eyes: next is my favorite my not so red snakeskin:rolleyes2:127250. Now I’ve read that a dark background will pepper pb. Is this true? Also any idea why the red went orange? Thanks all.
