Dear All

I have few imported 4 inch fishes ( may be 8 to 9 months old) from Malaysia. Please let me know at what age can i see the complete color of the fishes that will remain life long.

Thanks
Madhan

We'll need to know what varieties are involved, and if they are solid vs patterned discus. A picture or two would be helpful.

I am going to weight in at 2 years to reach 100% full color. By then patterns and full body colors are completely developed. The foods they eat also impact this which is why we have color enhancing foods available for our discus. If your fish are presently 10 cm or 4 inches they would be about 6 to 7 months. My response is rule of thumb. Willie will know better than me.

I have seen these fish before, Kumar. Has the Red White developed peppering?

The color of those Discus looks like young adults.

You maybe know that the lighter backgrounds tends to lessen the peppering if you don't want peppering to any extent.
