I know that this isn't the first and certainly wont be the last "Parents are eating the eggs" thread but I still wanted to share my musings. My pair have moved past the stage of eating eggs after they are laid but it seems they're on a hair trigger in terms of what triggers them to eat their eggs.

Water changes From research I've come to understand that fry require frequent water changes to survive. However, my pair will eat the eggs/wrigglers if I start one. Also, reducing the amount of water to aid attachment will reduce the number of eggs by half and then the rest soon after.

In short, it seems that anything I do to the tank will result in eating their babies. Even wiping the glass... Which is difficult for me because as a discus keeper, I've grown quite accustomed to necessary maintenance.

Any advice?

Don't do anything, sound like they don't like your water, limit feeding, cover the tanks
with brown paper bags and leave the lights off.
