I’m going to buy 6 discus 2.5”. while waiting for my 150gallon tank to be ready I want to put them into a quarantine tank. I have some 30g , but wonder isn’t it too small to grow up for few weeks.

It's fine for a few weeks or even a full 6 wk quarantine with daily 50% water changes.

Thanks for an advice about WC. Daily 50% is not an issue.
Would beef heart mix (actually due to my location I’m using lamb heart) would be fine for those small puppies?

Beef/Lamb heart mix would be great for putting size on small discus, but I would definitely up the W/C to maximize growth. Daily 100% would be even better.

100% do you mean 50% two times per day?

Each time drain 100% water till the discus lay flat down.

Wow ... doesn’t it stress fish? I would freak out if I need to climb to ceiling daily to take a breath.

Not sure where your discus came from, pablo. If they came from Asia, this would their experience three times a day. European discus will get 1X daily. Their only stress is "why is the nitrate so high?". ;)

I'll never be convinced this isn't stressful for them to some degree. I don't care if it's done 20x a day. It's an unnatural position.

I don't disagree, but so is spending your life in a glass box.

:bandana: I started mine 6 out in a 29g (which is still my sick tank) till I got a 55g & then a 125g. Never completely drained the tank during W/C's but did remove close to 95% most of the time. Never saw signs of stress, they just popped back up swimming when the level rose again. Fish are very resilient. We are really only talking minutes between draining & refilling & they adapt to the process quickly. "T"

I grew out 8 discus from 1.5" to nearly 4 inches in a 35 gallon with just sponge filters. I did a 50-75% WC every day. They are now in a 75 gallon cube and gaining size quickly. I think you will be fine with 6 in a 29 for a little bit.
