I finally got some free time, so I started today to put all things together. The things which I have been collecting for a while.

I want to create a small jungle with plenty plants going out of tank, since not so many in water itself.

Tank is low iron glass and would host up to 66gallon (250l) .. and of course few discus.
Initially I thought I buy some wild, but they are hardly available there and not so easy to keep as domestic. Anyway colors of discus would be natural. I will show them whenever I receive my preorder.

As of today I have hard scape: collected branches form beach and lava rocks.

As mentioned, there will be few plants hanging and growing out of tank.

philodendron:

Some water Lilly:

Some silver photos and fern

I want to have 6 discus there and 6 cory.
Can I still have some tetra but not overcrowd a tank?

I’m quite happy about the results .. some as cory which layed eggs already.
For sure I will change few things here and there, but majority is done. Now waiting for discus to come 131278

I almost didn't click on this... thank God I did! Absolutely awesome! And I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I can still identify a lot of different brilliant things you did with that set-up and how you planned it. And of course I love the heck out of any single strain tank but loooove the choice of strain! That lighting is badass, the tank looks like you put a lot of thought into avoiding trap debris and to keep it slick in clean, I will always love plants with this kid because the green just really makes the coloring of any strain of discus pop. Please keep updating this thread, Pablos!

Thanks for a nice word.
I added king blue tetra to this tank and it was a great move. Discus are more active and don’t spend much time between bushes anymore.

Wow!! Don’t know how I missed this!! Tank looks great and yes I too like the choice of discus! Planted tanks like this look great. On another forum I guy has a similar setup. But has a waterfall slowly feeding planted plants. Truly beautiful looking set up. Congrats!!

Thanks Tom .. that's second discus tank, which I keep in my office. It took me a while to find out the best matching colors of discus. Finally I took 3 Tefe and 3 red scribbelt (from Standker). I think those are the closest to the wild colors and match natural tank setup.

Can you share a link to that setup?

he has a really strange looking discus ;-)
I think it's always confusing, even for a fish itself. My apisto thinks he's discus, or that discus is an apisto. They truly love each other :-)

It's the same link. Guy has really beautiful paludarium .. just joking about his gold fish.
Initially I thought paludarium (which has some hardscape/land outside of the water), than decide to focus more on water and only emergent plants (riparian). For difference in definition you can look there: https://aquariumbreeder.com/difference-between-aquarium-terrarium-riparium-and-paludarium/

Pablos I just saw this thread, I love your Paludarium/Riparium. It is just beautiful, you should be very proud of it! I would love to do this too, but my water can't support the plants. I hope you post more pictures in future, it is really a great tank.

Thanks Barb and Tom .. especially for you an updated photo from this evening 132232
BTW I found that evenings' photos are the best - when there is no other light than from tank and no reflections from sunlight.

Generally all tanks are doing great and that one become truly a jungle. I even had to removed some of pants as there were no place to grow for all.132742

There are two dymax spacex lights for a tank’s plant plus one huge bulb for emersed plants.

Wow, just look at all those plants! How often do you do water change and how much at a time? Looks so pretty.

Hi … I’m changing water one per week - around 50%
Within the change I’m adding a mixture of nutrients: KNO3, MgSO₄ and Fe. I have a feeling that I could not change a water there at all as in a different tank, as those emersed plants sucks everything from water in no time.
