The PitchBlack X Gold Ram pair I've spoken of gave me a big fine batch of fry on the 6th. I moved the kids and the pair to a 29 a week or so ago to give them more elbow room.
It seems that this pair is not only very prolific, they are sneaky as all get-out. Whenever I do a WC they herd all the kids to the far corner by the plant which I greatly appreciate because my siphon hose has a good bit of suction. Although I feed them and give them a hard look 3 times a day I didn't realize until today that they had spawned again. This morning when I fed I saw mom and dad in the bottom and middle of the tank with the big kids. But when I looked at the top of the tank I saw another big swarm of tiny babies! The pair managed producing fry in straight tap this time. No RO at all!
I love this pair, but this can't go on or I'll be overrun with Rams again. I hate to do it, but I'm going to have to move the pair to a tank where there are other fish who will eat their eggs if they do it again. After these kids are several months old I'll put the pair together in a breeding tank then. At that time I guess I'll sell them because their little ones will be approaching breeding age and I'll choose a couple of pairs from that batch to carry on.
