I am Peg-Leg, a little regal sling. My mom wouldn't let me finish my makeup.

Thank you Al, it is standing on the bottom of it's enclosure which is a 4x4x5 acrylic box where ventilation holes on the side and top. The enclosure opens from the bottom so their cocoons are not destroyed when you open the enclosure. I decorate the enclosure so that if you turn it upside down nothing moves. I place the enclosure upside down in a 12x12 butterfly mesh tent in a light box. The spiders love the light and when they exit the enclosure I put the bottom lid on the enclosure and place the spider on top (or bottom in this case) for photos and the reflection is a bonus.

I've grown to enjoy jumping spiders. They really like living under the lids of my honey bee colonies. A lot of them and I'm always careful not to hurt them and gently get them out of my way. I think the ones I have are bold jumping spiders. I've often thought about collecting some, they're fun to watch.
Wonderful picture, Pat!

Thank you Jacob :D I should have JSs around my place so I am working on reintroducing them ( have seem them in the past). I have mated two of my adults (local forms) Lovely and Pudding and am hopeful that Lovely is gravid (pregnant). Should know soon if she is :D

Every time I see those things I imagine them crawling in my sleeping bag while camping at the lake when I was a kid

LOL Brian, they like high, bright places. Now a black widow might do that.

I just remember the movie arachnophobia where the jumping spiders were picking off the guys at the dirt bike track. Nope no spiders for me. Cute though!
