Its a question that pops up from time to time on the forum. How many discus are you currently keeping.

Please feel free to post pics with your answers. We love pics of Discus .

Any new Discus on the horizon? I KNOW Willie has some coming from Chicago Discus...truth be told Ive been in touch with Miranda and she is helping me fill a need here for a couple of adult discus.. :) for my breeding program. So I am very happy about that.

We have eight. I will post pictures if I can take any that are worth posting. We tried taking some practice shots tonight right after feeding them. They were nowhere good enough to post here. Al and others set the bar very high.

I currently have 6. I recently purchased 4 from Pompa's Discus and a pair of Garman Marlboros that I picked up a few years ago.

I have 4 (5.5 inch) and 1 (6+) in a 40g breeder. I probably should move them to a 75g but I am afraid that they will get more territorial since they have more space. OR, I could upsize the tank, get some additional discus (quarantine, of course). Any way, thoughts that if I keep them in a 40g breeder I will stunt them any? Or would it be best to move them to a 75g+ and maintain the 10g per discus unwritten guideline?

I have 10 in 125-gallon and 3 in 40-gallon breeder tanks. I'm done with getting any more discus fish at this time, totally satisfied with what I have on hand for now.

Hmmm thought for sure we had more people keeping discus here?

Ive got roughly 30 adults in various tanks..mostly paired up..they dont breed much anymore ..well past their prime. As they are 6-8 years old. I will be setting a bunch up soon in an old folks retirement home.

I also have 9 homebred juvies growing out in a 125 g and another 11 from Brian (Jeep) growing out in another 125g.

End of the week I will be adding 3 more adults from Chicago Discus.

I had around 800 to nearly 1000 Discus
before my family health crisis. All homebred, no imports for a few generations. It would take me days to count how many but they were mostly fry,
Around 30 fry tanks and usually another
10 to 20 bowls of younger fry.

Beautiful fish! I fixed the image for you. Please see this thread...http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?126112-Camera-Phone-Users-read-this

It tells you how to edit and post pics so they show right on the forum.

I currently have 9 discus. 6 in one tank and 3 in another tank.
The sizes range from 4 inch to 5.5 inch.
I am also in the process of setting up a larger tank and plan to move all of them in to one tank. Pictures coming soon.

I have 5 in a 40g breeder. Might be time to upsize the tank.
