Ok my wife has been asking me about mirrorless cameras. Want something like my Nikon. Says mirrorless is easier. Just looking for a fun camera. And a plus for me if she’s got something to do :). Looking at Nikon z50 or cannon EOS R100. Are the lenses interchangeable from my dlsr?

Hi Tom, Look up the FTZ (Nikon) adapter https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Mount-Adapter-FTZ-II/dp/B09KH7FZW9/ref=asc_df_B09KH7FZW9/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532600627865&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1950465165751823782&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011805&hvtargid=pla-1459276850142&psc=1 to ensure the mirrorless you are considering.

My wife got a Nikon Z50 about a year and a half ago and loves it. I've used it a few time for photographs as well and it is a solid performer to my inexperienced self. The combo that came with it had what I felt was a good starter set for lenses if you don't have any yet (16-50 and 50-250).

Thanks Pat and Jake. Jake that is the set I was looking at. Are the lenses Nikkor lens? Just wondering how good they are.

Can confirm that the lenses shipped with the camera are Nikkor branded lenses.

Ok my wife has been asking me about mirrorless cameras. Want something like my Nikon. Says mirrorless is easier Not sure its accurate to say mirrorless are easier Tom. Put either a mirrorless or dslr on auto pilot and they both take pictures without the operator knowing much.

The z50 is similar to the dslr d7500. I don't have a z50 but I do have the d7500 which is a really fine camera.

This ..https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buying-guides/nikon-z-50-vs-d7500-mirrorless-vs-dslr

Is a good comparison article.

A point to make here on the z50 being easier. Whether you buy z50 or a d7500 or any camera with removable lens.. the principles behind the photography is the same. If the camera is just going to be put on autopilot they are all equally easy and if time is spent learning how to use all those functions and lens.. all are just as difficult. There are legitimate reasons to choose the z50 over a similar dslr like the d7500 but ease of use really isnt one.

Just my opinion.
