My photo buddy Susan and I went to a local park where the sandhills are known to roost in the shallows of East Lake Toho in the Fall/Winter time. When we arrived at first we saw no birds so prepared to take the sunset as the colors were really nice and then some magic happened.

Thanks Al :D The ones I sent via text were taken with the phone. These are with the camera with a wide-angle lens. Pretty similar however :D

Gorgeous! :) We get some sandhills migrating through here and possibly even breeding here. I hear them pretty often in the spring and occasionally in the fall. I love listening to their calls.

Thank you Jacob, when I hear the cranes flyover the house I am thinking dinosaurs with the sounds they make :)
