Happy to hear that all went well and your happy with them. Now get the two larger ones together (I am sure you will recognize the male) and they will filling your tanks.
These guys have been living at 83F discus and Ram tanks.

I have the long fin pair in separate tanks but the male is still inside the cave with plenty of wigglers. I keep them in a community tank until they are ready to leave the cave then they go to a grow out tank. If I want more I get them together again but I think that it on ABN's for now.

The heat sealer came in handy since my dog bit the tip of my finger off. So rubber bands are out of the question and I did buy it for the breather bags. I really works well with the standard fish shipping bags and oxygen.

Packed perfectly in heat sealed bags..

I'm surprised that breather bags worked for adult BN what with all their bag poking sharp things. Gives me hepe that they could work for baby Discus, too.

These aren't breather bags.. They are double bagged regular bags that are heat sealed shut, Its hard to see in the pic, but there oxygen in it.

I have plenty of breather bags and there is a way to double bag breather bags. But I wasn't comfortable shipping the large male he is real spiny. If you want to double bag Breather bags after you seal the bag, you wrap the first bag with wet newspaper and stick in the next bag and then heat seal the second bag. I tried it and my PBR's arrived just fine. I don't double bag them anymore with breather bags that was one try test. Found somewhere on line the method.

Al did the fry that was in one of the bags survive? Just did not want to take it out after I put the ABN in the bag.

I have been heat sealing bags with fish for the last 7 years, arthritis in the fingers have stopped the rubber band method. Never had problems with the bags leaking once they are heat sealed.

I have problems heat sealing bags that are 6" or more. I can't get the wrinkles out of the area I want to seal. Should I just try harder? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'd band my bags if my arthritic hands would cooperate.

I spread the bag with my other hand and if I get wrinkles I reseal a little further in.
