When I kept discus one of my favorite things to do was stick FDABW to the glass and watch the discus plow into it. I am growing out a group of mixed strain tropheus, a predominantly vegetarian cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika. I love sticking a veggie wafer to the glass and watching them graze it away to nothing in a feed frenzy. It makes me happy to watch this feeding style on a daily basis!

I hope you enjoy it as well!

Tropheus are nice looking fish and are interesting to watch. I had a species only rank with Tropheus Ikola or "Kaiser II" a few years back and I enjoyed having them very much. Might try another African cichlid tank again in the near future.

Thanks Mervin. I enjoy watching their social behavior also. There is 13 juvenile ikola in the mix in this tank. I have a 500 gallon African cichlid tank also. My next rotation will be to sell off the predator haps and peacocks, move the tropheus into the 500 and get discus in the 110gal. Here’s a recent video of the big tank.

Wow.. you'd think they were discus attacking a cube of freeze dried australian blackworms! :)

Those are some really nice tanks Danny! Beautiful fish.
