Since the pandemic is "over" at this point and masks aren't required everywhere I found myself with an abundance of masks. I could toss them in a box put in the attic I guess.. but I got to wondering if I could use them for something else.. About the same time I was looking for plastic plants for my crayfish tank. Live plants don't do well with them. I just wanted something for the crayfish to climb over and forage around. I then remembered the masks..A few snips with a scissors, tie a rock in it and instant structures for the crayfish.. These have been in use now months.

Since then I have used them in my guppy tanks and currently have them in with some glass shrimp I just tanked. I dont need anything fancy here..these are breeding colonies. ..
For the glass shrimp I painted the tank black and used. Black masks..

Tanks a little empty.. ordered 20 shrimp.. got 10 alive here. But there are a few berried females so it should be fine.
Is this a crazy idea?. not really.. not much different than a spawning mop made from acrylic yard. The difference is I used something I had no use for. :)
