Hi all,
anybody cross these and have pics? Just curious what they might look like grown up. I have a few hundred fry and am impatient! :)

Thanks,
al

Hi Al:
Why don't you post some pictures of the parents? It'll be fun watching the fry as they grow up and start showing pattern.

I have the pair and they also have hundreds of fries at 1 week old. I can't wait to see how they will turn out neither.

Al,

Can I get me some of those? I was looking for a PB cross anyway and I think that those two will make some very cool babies!

Hi Al:
That looks like a promising combination. Why did you pull them from the parents so early?

Carol,

Al has been using artificial raising methods. It has been tremendously successful for him. Last time when I was there at the same time as Matt Parsons, he had 2 tanks of small fry, some dime sized and some really small plus more eggs on a cone plus his SSxWG crosses which are huge now, all artificially raised.

It's all very cool to see.

Hi Carol,
Johns right on the money here. I really enjoy raising these fry artificial too, though it is more work. I have had some great results with my method and can honestly say the success rate is better than 90-95 %. When I first started using the artificial rearing, my rates were terrible, I lost alot of fry in the first 3 days.

Artificial gives me the opportunity to see what offspring will look like a lot faster than waiting until a pair gets it right (months down the road), only to find that they weren't what I really wanted out of it.

I also can raise more babies in a shorter period of time from a pair of interest. and do so in a controlled environment. I have 2 spawns from this pair now That are a week apart, and her tubes down today(spawn 3 on the way). Eventually I may let them try to raise them on their own. It depends on how these fry turn out. If not good then I'll try another female with this now seasoned male!

take care,
al
