HI all,
Heres your chance for fame, but not fortune. :)... SimplyDiscus is growing again! WE are currently working on becoming a full website, with permanent sections as well as the forum.

Our Webdesigner is looking for PICs of discus that may be used in the site layout .Photos may be edited to fit the site needs. Credit will be given to the photographers that generously donate their prized photos.

So here is your chance to have any visitors to our site see your pics. You can post them in this thread!

seriously though..IMO. its not a bad idea having a section on what NOT to buy. have pics of discus with defects,explaining each problem..ie/ large eyes,frayed fins,bad coloring,egg shaped,etc.

My LFS rescue. Stunted with large eyes. I saw his potential 2 months ago. There he is after deworming and quarantine, TLC with massive life food turn out to be my next breeder. Don't know what strain is he. Certainly not a common turquoise. I have to get Cary to identify him. Do you have any idea?

Hey Jeff, are they wild browns in that planted with fry? Solid fish. Very nice indeed. As are those alenquers above.

I don't think it was a ridiculous amount of money....about $600 last year...and you can probably get it for $450 now. I have an Olympus 3040. The camera does have an exceptionally good lens for low light photos....which allows me to take pics with no flash......to me that is the trick...the flash washes out the color and ohhh that glare and reflection..... ;)

I do take about 50 pics before I get a keeper....the real beauty of a digi-cam...

Hey Willin, Well to be perfectly honest that Discus was sold to me from a LFS and I was told that it is a Red Marlboro. As you can see it is not Red nor is it turning Red either. After 2 months waiting for it to turn, I asked the shop owner what was up. He told me to lower my pH and it would turn. I don't want to fool around with the pH but I have been tempted. From what I acn see though, it looks like a Clean Golden Pigeon Blood. Your guess is as good as mine at this point. Sorry I could not be of more help Willin, ??? :-\. If anyone out there can tell me what they think I would be very grateful. I am curious also. I don't want to mess around with the pH because my fish have become acustomed to a pH of around 7.2. I amafraid that if I change the pH they will get stressed out and I don't need that headache. See ya, George

Don't change your pH. I can't see how it would make a difference. You could feed axasthanthin to bring out whatever red tones it possesses, but why? That discus is pretty just like he is. If you want a Marlbororo buy one that is already exhibiting the color pattern.
