I'm not a breeder but hope to have a small "Garage Breeding" setup eventually. It seems like there are TONS of variables that should be tracked when breeding. What recessive genes might the parent have passed on to the fry. Breeding F1s or F2s of combinations of strains and much more.

I'm just wondering if anyone uses some sort of database to maintain info on what is going on. If there is shareware software that works well please post a reference or link. If people have written their own then what types of info are most important to track.

I'm thinking breeding discus is a lot harder than throwing a few in a tank and see what happens.

Thanks a lot for any tips.

Dan

I usually keep a simple breeding journal, it can prove to be very usefull for diagnosing problems
