Hi guys,
I usually keep my tap water well aerated for 2 days and the water is safe to use. However, recently the water company has been using very high levels of Chlorine which will not evaporate in a hurry. Once I have aerated the water, and just prior to introducing to the tanks, I need to check the water to ensure its safe.

I need to:

1. Know how to measure the amount of Chlorine in the water.
2. Purchase a Chlorine Test Meter that is accurate but doesn't cost the earth.

Can anyone please help me with regard to the above two points as I am in trouble. I am scared to do a water change as the last one cost me dearly with the loss of a 120 fry. :(

Would very much appreciate your help.

Best Regards,
Nigel

I have dip strips for pools to test chlorine. I think a pool place would be your best bet.

Thanks guys,
Sorry it took a while getting back to you. Could you let me know what exact values one would have to look for in water. Is it the free Chlorine or the Chloromines or the total that I should check for and what values are we talking about here. Also what equipment is best recomended for this...Meter or Strips.
Best Regards,
Nigel
