Fishless cycle day 21 - The bio-filter is processing about 3 ppm NH3 to NO2 in 48 hrs right now. I've got around 7 - 10 ppm NO3 so NB is present but my NO2 is off the charts. My nitrite test kit only tests to 5 ppm and it's been there for three days, now.

I don't want to stop adding small amounts of NH3 for fear of starving the NS, but I'm afraid my nitrites are so high now that the NB won't be able to catch up. Should I do a partial water change to lower the nitrites?

It's kind of a quiet day today I guess.
A WC shouldn't make a difference in the time it takes to fully cycle, in fact, it may slow it down a little. Usually the only time someone does a WC during cycling is right before adding the fish. It sounds like you are on schedule, the nitrites always seem to drag on and take forever.

Thanks, Ralph.

I'm just getting very impatient... ;)
