These are the fry from my first pair, now 8wks old or so. They are just starting to get some color, most will have deep red eyes like their Mom.

The second picture is my favorite, Joan. Nice round, red eyed babies with straight bars. Most of my babies had broken or Y shaped stress bars. Anybody know why?

Hey Denver, it's colder than a stepmom's kiss here in the Springs. I just had 4 relatives cancel out on me for Thanksgiving coming from the South. Can't blame them, wonder if Discus like Turkey?

I'll post some more next month, I'm gonna hold most until I figure out which ones I'm going to keep, if any.

I have no idea how they will look as adults. This is a weird cross, they may be low on body color, but they will have a nice shape and eye color. Time will tell.

Carol, I think we are having a blast growing out these babies. It's just amazing watching them develop. It's also very expensive keeping them in CBW! OUCH!!!!

All of them except one survived. I sucked it up in the battery vac by accident when it was 2 days free swimming. So there are sixteen of them. I was lucky to get them, after 22 spawns or so and all dead wrigglers. The pair would fight over the eggs and finally I separated them after spawning and let the Mom raise them.

I think that's the reason they had so much trouble with the prior spawns. They continue to fight after spawning and I've put them both into the community tank for the time being. They are going their separate ways now, but are still very friendly with each other.

Why did they fight so much after spawning? I have no idea. Any takers?
