Hi all,

After buying the 4 discus from Al, Irene and I decided that we needed a bigger tank for our discus and angels. After listening to Jeff over lunch, we decided we also needed a quarantine tank.

So, today I bought a new 135-gallon (60 x 18 x 30) tank. The old 70-gallon tank will go down stairs and function as our quarantine tank.

I also bought a 165-gallon water storage tank plus a pump and enough switches and other electrical gadgets and bulkheads to make the water changes automatic — if it works as planned.

Wow, I am soooo :bounce: :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce2: excited! It's Christmas and my birthday wrapped in one.

Thanks to Al and Jeff for great fish and great ideas!

Awesome News John,
The more tanks the better! and as for the 70 Gal QT tank.... Perfect. Discus do best in groups of 4-6 or more, so now you can buy a bunch from one breeder, and Qt them in style for at least 6 Weeks! without worrying about them out growing the tank!

Sadly I think I have no room down there for more tanksuntil I build some wracks or copy Mench's homedepot racks! ;) ;D
Take care

John,

Sounds good to me! My wife told me (the night before the meeting) that I could add another tank to the mix as well. I asked if I got the right set up and it took up a minimum of space, if I could get a double-tank rack with one on top and one on the bottom! More fishies for me as well!

Of course I am DEEPLY envious about the 135 gallon. Very sweet. Lots of discus can fit in there!

Chuck be careful what you wish for. Since the meeting my wife has been asking all kinds of questions and even starting to critique my methods. Last night she asked why are you so concerned with Ph when everyone said its not that important? I didnt think she knew what PH was!

We might be getting more tanks but they will probally be hers. Rich
