Hi,
I would appreciate if someone can help me on this.
I have day-old free swimmers but their daddy is sick with what looks like fin rot on the center of the left pectoral fin.
What treatment is recommend which will not harm the free swimmers? Or shall I go ahead and pull the male fish, put him in a hospital tank and let the female fish tend to the babies?
This is their first spawn but I'd rather put the male fish at less risk than the babies.
Is the salt treatment or antibiotics safe for the free swimmers?
My current water parameters are:
Temp = 85
TDS = 80
pH = 6.5
1 large sponge filter 20% w/c every two days.
I have no idea on the nitrate/nitrite/and ammonia level but I add two teaspoons of Amquel everyday to control ammonia in this 30 gallon breeder tank.
Thanks for reading.
