Hi all,
I ws in Petsmart today to buy some frozen BW's(their freezer took a dump and the food was all melted) and saw this item on the rack. Has anyone tried it and does it work? It says it constantly reads the Ammonia levels in the tank and has a colorimetric readout to indicate the level. Looks interesting.

Steve,
Was this the seachem one? if it is I've heard that they are slow to react and the ammonia can go to danger levels faster than the color will change.

Steve,

If this the Seachem Ammonia Alert--I have a few of them which I use for fishless cycling. They are pretty good at high ammonia (2-5ppm) concentrations but won't detect the lower level spikes that will seriously harm discus. So don't throw away the tetra Test kits yet!

HTH,

Pat

Hi all,
Randal & Pat, Yes, I believe that was the mfg's name of the item. I was just curious if it worked or not. Thanks

Steve
