In another thread,i asked what other people used instead of those breeding cones. i purchased pipe from hardware and with suction cups,put 2 in the tank.

For 2 days now,my female has been cleaning the pipe...yesterday afternoon,i could see she was really nervous,even getting aggressive with the male. she'd do a few practise runs,then swim off really fast.By 7pm,still no eggs,so i quickly cleaned the cone and put it in her tank.
Within seconds,she was spawning..... she didn't bother cleaning it first. She was busting at the seams to lay those eggs.

So its not what i like,its what THEY want.....

Can you post pictures? I am interested in seeing how you made the pvc fixture...

Pascale. cool...but i bet she wouldve even laid faster..if she had a nice chook cone. lol.
my female went round and round with one eye looking down on the chicken...till she decided if it was friend or foe.
think she decided it was the best animal to brood eggs. but..they fungused...so hopefully next time my chicken pot gets to have wigglers.
hope your eggs grow into big strong boys and girls pascale!!
