I currently run an Eheim on one tank. The output for the cannister is a spray bar. Love the action from the spray bar.

On a second tank, I run a magnum. Unit functions well but I have one complaint - the discharge. It causes a significant current in the 30 gallon. I would prefer to swap the diffuser for a spraybar.

Has anyone modified the Magnum in this way?

I just take an Aquaclear 300 piece of foam and cut a slit in it so the pipe fits in it. I do that for the intake on fry tanks and the output as well. The unit works well and the water doesn't cause any current.

That's a good idea, I'm going to do that. The output from a HOT Magnum is very dangerous if a fish bolts into it. My male BD did a number on his forehead the other morning because of that outflow wide angle attachment and I've been thinking of ways to protect against it happening again. Thanks.
